Don Imus was a radio broadcaster in the United States who was best known for his show Imus in the Morning.

The radio show was broadcast on a number of stations and digital platforms around the country till March 29, 2018. He has worked for a number of different media firms, including WNBC, WFAN, and CBS Radio, among others.

Don was the recipient of four Marconi Awards (1990, 1992, 1197, and 1994). On April 21, 1997, Time magazine named him one of the “25 Most Influential People in America,” a distinction he has held since. In a similar vein, he was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame in 1989. In 2002, Talkers magazine named him as one of the top 25 radio talk show hosts of all time, and he was a finalist for the award.

He passed away on December 27, 2019, as a result of complications from lung illness.

Don Imus’s Children and Their Families

At various points in his life, Don Imus married twice and had a total of six children.

Around 1969, he tied the knot with Harriet Showalter. Despite the fact that they were the parents of two children, Ashley and Elizabeth, they divorced in 1979. The next year, on December 17, 1994, he tied the knot with Diedre Coleman. She was a visual artist, novelist, and radio personality, among other things. Frederick Wyatt was born on the 3rd of July, 1998, to her and her husband.

In a similar vein, Imus had a younger brother who went by the name of Frederic Moore Imus. He was born on January 11, 1942, and died quietly on August 6, 2011, while sleeping. He was an American radio talk show presenter and a member of the United States Army’s 101st Airborne Division who graduated from Kent State University and served in the army.

His children and other family members enjoy a secluded existence away from social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. As a result, there isn’t much information available about them, such as their age or who they are dating.

He raised millions of dollars for cancer-stricken children and the siblings of children who died as a result of sudden infant death syndrome.
